This applet generates an interactive searchable table of contents for a
large website. It reads data from the applet tag.
Multi-level folders and
frames-based navigation with the option to specify the target-frame for each
content line are supported.
- The left frame of this
page shows a demo of the applet. Single-click on
the folder to open/close.
Click on the "+" button to open all folders.
Click on the "Reset" button to close all folders.
Single-click on any folder item to load the page
in the specified frame.
The applet has a "Currently Browsing" feature through a change in color
of the content line.
The search is restricted only to the content line
strings and is case insensitive. Example: "section 2.1" (without the
double-quotes). The search function can also be turned off by setting the
applet param KEEPBUTTONS value to "no". A demo of this feature can be seen here. Use the
"Home" key on the keyboard to reset the applet. Use the "End" key
to open all folders.
Colors for the background, font etc. can be modified
through the applet parametes. A demo of the applet with a smaller font

note that this last example also illustrates the use of background
image through the applet param BGIMAGE.

- The English text on
the buttons and the status bar messages can be specified in other languages
using the applet params "ResetButtonText", "FindButtonText", "StatusMessage1"

This version can display upto 1000 content items with the first item
displaying "searchableTOC4 Info". The registered version, however, has no limitations.
